During each recitation there will a 10-minute quiz based on the homework assignment that is due that very same day. The quizzes combined count as much as a midterm. Each recitation session will include a discussion of the homework problems due that same day. You need to hand in your homework at the beginning of the lab session. In addition you are welcome to discuss any other problems you need.

The following weights will be used to determine the overall grade in the course

| Midterm Exam II | 15 % |

There will be two homework assignments per week. Each homework will consist of the following parts:
- Suggested reading : You will be assigned sections from the textbook to read in order to better understand the topics discussed in class.
- Regular problems: A set of problems chosen from several sources including the textbooks above.
Exams will be closed book. No calculators will be allowed but you can bring a standard 5" x 8" card with notes and formulas.
You can bring a standard 5"x8" card with notes and formulas. However calculators are NOT allowed.
Final exam is scheduled for the last day of class.
